Two Poems by Andrew James

foetus

you are

a clenched

fist

unfolding

to form

an outstretched

hand

waiting

to be

held

orbital

month by month

we plot

each phase

of your becoming

tracing every

motion or new

direction as i

rotate around you

confined to this

constant

distance yet

measured closeness

wobbling

on the tilted

axis

of fatherhood
