The Kids on Pablo Island by Scott Jacky Parker

FOR THE LOVE OF FANTASY

The reality of life is unbearable,

that’s why we have

Cocaine

Hollywood

Disney

Pornhub

Mcdonalds

The Museum of Modern Art

local bars

Las Vegas

TV’s

Instagram

PS4’s

The NFL

Six Flags

YouTube

The Bahamas

Strip clubs

Marlboro Cigarettes

celebrities

casinos

Netflix

just to let these fantasies

and other pleasurable things

take us away from our loathed

realities for thirty seconds.

MAGICALLY DELICIOUS

Sometimes I’ll forget

I’m a human being

in a universe, on a planet

rotating with other planets

and then I’ll realize none

of this makes sense

and then I’ll go back to

eating my bowl of

Lucky Charms.

GOLD JEWELRY DIPPED IN HONEY

You can’t want something you’ve

never been exposed to.

I didn’t want a lot of things

until I actually saw it.

DOPAMINE OVER EVERYTHING

We all know we’re supposed to

drink plenty of water,

eat fruits and veggies,

yet we still eat Chinese food, hamburgers,

hotdogs and drink sodas.

Why, because quick momentary

vices are paramount over our

own longevity and endurance.

WISH YOU WERE HERE

I wish you were here

I wish you were fucking here

I wish you were really fucking here

I wish you you could be here

I wish you were here so much

I fuckin hate you because your not here

I wish you were here all the time

I just wish you were here

I just wish you were here

I wish you were here
